Programme Description
This programme aims to equip students with a broad understanding of the operations in transport systems from the perspective of management and technology-driven environment. The programme covers the fundamental aspects of transport operations and management. In additional, site visits to transport companies will be arranged to enhance students' knowledge on transport businesses.
Admission Requirements
Applicants shall fulfil the following admission requirements:
- have completed Form 5 and attained Level 2/ Grade E or above in English Language (Syllabus B) at HKCEE or equivalent; OR
- have completed Secondary 6 and attained Level 2 or above in English Language at HKDSE or equivalent; OR
- hold a relevant Recognized of Prior Learning (RPL) qualification in Logistics industry at QF Level 2 or above; OR
- hold a certificate/ diploma at QF Level 2 or above from a recognised institution
For conditions 3 and 4 above, applicants shall sit in and pass an English test.
Applicants may be invited to attend an interview.
Programme Duration
8 months (Full-time mode. 2 semesters per year)
Medium of Instruction
The language of instruction will be English supplemented with Cantonese. Course materials and assessments are in English.
Class Schedule / Venue
Full-time mode: Lectures are normally held during daytime at Hung Hom Centre or other training centres. (Occasionally on Saturdays daytime)
Programme Award
Graduates of this programme will be awarded the Diploma in Transport Studies (Operations and Management).
Tuition Fee for Entire Programme
HK$32,800* (Tuition fees are subject to change without prior notice)
* Tuition fee is paid at the beginning of the academic year. New students are required to pay an initial registration fee of HK$5,000 to confirm their offer. This registration fee will be deducted from the tuition fee payment. All fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Academy Prizes, Scholarship and Further Study Incentive
The “Academy Prizes” will be awarded to the top three graduates of each Accredited Programme. Graduates will receive cash awards in recognition of outstanding academic performance.
The "Applied Learning Programme Admission Scholarship" will be awarded to the fresh graduates of the "Applied Learning Programme-Railway Studies" of the "Diploma in Transport Studies - Operations and Management (Full time)". Successful applicants can receive a tuition waiver of HK$5,000. Please click here for the application form.
The "Further Study Incentive" is awarded to graduates of “Diploma in Transport Studies” on Dean's List who are admitted to any Advanced Diploma programmes in MTR Academy and can receive a tuition waiver of HK$5,000. The waiver will be issued after completion of Advanced Diploma programmes.
Articulation Pathway
Upon completion of the programme, students are eligible to apply for admission to the Advanced Diploma in Transport
Operations and Management (QF Level 4) programme offered by MTR Academy and they may apply for credit transfer
or subject exemption.
Graduates may also pursue their careers as professionals in transport industry.
