Diploma in Transport Studies (Engineering) and Diploma in Transport Studies (Operations and Management)* are designed and taught by industry experts in railway and transport industries. The programmes cover the fundamental theories and knowledge of engineering, transport operations and management. Students can apply their learning through job experiences in MTR stations^ and will also be arranged visits to other transport organisations to enhance their understanding of the sector.

Applicants shall fulfil the following admission requirements:
Diploma in Transport Studies (Engineering)- have completed Secondary 6 and attained Level 2 or above in Core Mathematics in HKDSE; OR
- have completed Secondary 5 and attained Level 2 / Grade E or above in Mathematics in HKCEE; OR
- hold a relevant recognised of Prior Learning (RPL) qualification in the Electrical & Mechanical Services industry at QF Level 2 or above;# OR
- hold a certificate / diploma at QF Level 2 or above from a recognised institution;# OR
- have completed Senior Secondary 3 in Mainland China; AND attained a score of 60% or above in Mathematics in the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao).#&
- have completed Secondary 6 and attained Level 2 or above in English Language in HKDSE; OR
- have completed Secondary 5 and attained Level 2 / Grade E or above in English Language in HKCEE; OR
- hold a relevant recognised of Prior Learning (RPL) qualification in Logistics industry at QF Level 2 or above;# OR
- hold a certificate / diploma at QF Level 2 or above from a recognised institution;# OR
- have completed Senior Secondary 3 in Mainland China; AND attained a score of 60% or above in English in the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao).#&
Applicants may be invited to attend an interview.
&Only applicable for cohort 2022/23, 2023/24 and 2024/25 of the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao). Applicants should have the right of abode or the right to land in the HKSAR.
Upon completion of the programme, students are eligible to apply for admission to the Advanced Diploma in Transport Operations and Management Programme (QF Level 4) OR Advanced Diploma in Railway Engineering Programme (QF Level 4) offered by MTR Academy and they may apply for credit transfer or subject exemption, subject to approval.
Tuition Fees
HK$32,800 (Tuition fees are subject to change without prior notice)
Tuition fee is paid at the beginning of the academic year. Applicants are required to pay a registration fee of HK$5,000 for admission offer acceptance. This registration fee will be credited to your tuition fee. All fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Medium of InstructionThe language of instruction will be English supplemented with Cantonese. Course materials and assessments are in English.

Class Schedule and VenueLectures are normally held during evening (Occasionally on Saturdays daytime) at Hung Hom Centre or other training centres.

Programme AwardGraduates of these programmes will be awarded the Diploma in Transport Studies (Engineering) or Diploma in Transport Studies (Operations and Management).

Academy Prizes and Further Study IncentiveAcademy Prizes will be awarded to the top three graduates of each Accredited Programme. Graduates will receive cash awards in recognition of outstanding academic performance.
Further Study Incentive will be awarded to graduates of Diploma in Transport Studies on Dean's List who are admitted to any Advanced Diploma programmes in MTR Academy and can receive a tuition waiver of HK$5,000. -
Financial AidsEligible local students may apply for the HKSAR Government's Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme (ENLS). For details of the scheme, please refer to the Government's website.
