Study trips to MTR Academy by TransitLink and the Institution of Engineers, Singapore (2018/10/16)

On 16 October, the MTR Academy greeted two overseas delegation groups from the Lion City who were on their technical study mission.

The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES), the national society of engineers in Singapore, led a 11-strong delegation group consisting of railway professionals and academics. “Besides being on a technical study mission, we would like to explore the possibility of Memorandum of Understanding and further collaboration with MTR Academy,” said Mr Lew Yii-der, Chairman of the Railway & Transportation Technical Committee.

TransitLink, a subsidiary of the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, provides ticket payment services in the public transport system. The delegation wanted to know the best practices of MTR's maintenance framework. During the visit, the MTR Station Based Maintenance (SBM) team addressed many of the questions relating to MTR’s maintenance plan for station sales devices at both the strategic and implementation levels.
