Memorandum of Understanding Signing with Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2017/08/17)
MTR Academy and Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 17 August 2017.
PolyU has been a strategic partner of MTR Corporation since 2005, with the Corporation supporting teaching delivery on railway-specific subjects for the programme “MSc in Electrical Engineering (Railway Systems)” in PolyU. The programme provides a keyhole view for local engineering graduates to peer into the unique and all-encompassing world of the railway engineering industry and its practices.
Under the MoU, MTR Academy will officially take up the Corporation's role to continuously support teaching of the practical part of the following subjects while the university would focus on the academic part.
- Railway Power Supply
- Maintenance and Reliability Engineering
- Signalling and Train Control Systems
- Railway Vehicles
- System Assurance and Safety in Railways
- Enterprise Risk and Asset Management
- Metros in Hong Kong and China
Both parties will work hand-in-hand to develop course materials to give students an integrated experience with a combination of academic and industrial knowledge.
