MTR Academy provides Customised Training for Macau GIT as on-going collaboration and support to Macau's Light Rapid Transit (2017/12/18)


The Gabinete para as Infra-estruturas de Transportes (GIT), responsible for the design and construction of Macau Light Rapid Transit System as well as its future operational arrangements, collaborated with MTR Academy in organizing a bespoke training programme for the government officials.

The 2-day Railway Operation Programme was tailor-made to the specific learning requirements of the Macau GIT. The programme covered the critical knowledge domains of Railway Safety Management & Crisis Management, New Lines Planning, Management & Operation Readiness, Operation & Service Reliability Management, Service Disruption Handling and Communication and Asset Management.

Around 30 GIT government officials completed the training which was held in Macau. The first round was in July 2017 and the second, September 2017.

The Macau Light Rapid Transit also known as Metro Ligeiro de Macau is a mass transit system under construction. It is scheduled to commence service in 2019. Trains are two-car, fully automated (driverless) and utilise a rubber-tyred APM system.
