Myanmar Railways Visits MTR Academy in Hong Kong (2017/12/18)


Myanmar Railways is the state-owned agency that operates the country’s railway network. Myanmar Railways is currently undertaking an ambitious expansion program to add another 3,645 km to its network.

On 7 November 2017, the MTR Academy met with the delegation group from Myanmar Railways to discuss topics on infrastructure, railway operations and the Railway + Property development model. Discussion was also held on how the MTR Academy may support the advancement of Myanmar Railway’s training for capability development. The day-long visit was held at the Hong Kong Headquarters of MTR.

MTR Academy’s mission is to train railway talents and develop railway experts and executives with the aim of advancing service and operational excellence of the railway industry worldwide. In this way, the Academy seeks to support the Belt and Road Initiative and to serve the needs of Hong Kong, the Mainland of China and the rest of the world.
