MTR Academy signs consultancy agreement with MRT Jakarta supporting the launch of Jakarta Transport Academy (2018/02/20)


MRT Jakarta signed a consultancy agreement with MTR Academy to focus on capacity building and human resources development in MRT Jakarta operations through the Jakarta Transport Academy.

The signing was conducted on 1 February 2018 during a Workshop “Realizing Integrated Urban Transportation System: a Lesson from Hong Kong towards The Inception of Jakarta Transport Academy”. Taking place in the City Hall of Central Jakarta, the signing event was witnessed by the Vice Governor of Jakarta and the local transport community.

DKI Jakarta Vice Governor Mr. Sandiaga Uno said "We want MRT in Jakarta not only to have a world class infrastructure, but also a world class human resources. We have just launched Jakarta Transport Academy, a collaboration between MRT Jakarta and Hong Kong MTR Academy, as a forum for education and knowledge transfer in the development of Jakarta's transportation system.”

President of MTR Academy Mr Morris Cheung shared that "MTR Academy is delighted and ready to support the MRT Jakarta in opening of the first mass transit railway system in Jakarta in March 2019. We are pleased to provide advice for the setting up of the Jakarta Transport Academy which will serve the future metro human resources needs in Indonesia".

MTR Academy and MRT Jakarta first signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 1 May 2017 in Hong Kong.
